All for a handset that looks identical to last year’s effort, but now with 5G, LiDAR (if you buy the more expensive versions) and the A14 chipset. In speed tests of Apple’s own division, this is 50% faster vs Android rivals apparently. Just wait until the Snapdragon 875 launches in five weeks, fellas. Still, at least the iPhone 12 Mini looks okay, as long as the battery life isn’t as godawful as the SE 2020.
As well as that shenanigans, we saw the OnePlus 8T finally revealed – and it’s solid value for £550 UK, if not particularly much of an upgrade over the older OnePlus 8. Plus that Google Pixel 5 embargo lifted, so you can check out my full review now as well as unboxings of both of those phones.
So that’s my week, how was yours?
